I'm trying to set up message delivery restrictions on many of our distribution groups. All of our distribution groups are Mail Universal Distribution Group type.
I have tried restricting delivery by using the "Only accept messages from the following senders" and putting in our All Staff distribution group (which is made up of other distribution groups and individual mailboxes). I have also tried the "Reject messages from the following senders" option and put in our All Students distribution group. In both cases, messages from students (who are part of All Students and NOT part of All Staff) are still delivered.
The student accounts are hosted on Office 365, and thus remote mailboxes. I wouldn't expect this to have any effect on the delivery restrictions, but perhaps it does. Anyone have ideas as to how to fix this, or at least work around it? I do not want any groups to except emails from students (except their own distribution groups).
